Nationwide preeminent provider for commercial security, fire and life safety seeks to hire an in-office/onsite Assistant Controller to join their growing team.  You will be responsible for leading the accounting month-end close operations, supporting and responding to new business programs, leading user acceptance testing for new system implementations, managing process improvement initiatives, and integrating acquired companies with a focus on maintaining and enhancing internal controls over financial reporting, improving service delivery, driving efficiencies, and leveraging best practices.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for organizing and directing the accounting personnel and the integrity of the Company's financial data.
Oversee the monthly close process, including financial analysis and preparation of various month-end deliverables.
Oversee management reporting processes including cost accounting, and line-of-business reporting.
Ensure accuracy of financial statements through strict account reconciliation procedures and financial statement reviews.
Prepare annual audited financial statements, along with footnotes.
Oversee financial and accounting system controls, including partnering with IT in system conversions and implementations.
Maintain SOX compliant environment, where applicable, and manage relationship with external auditors.
Integrate accounting operations of acquired companies and assist with consolidation of acquired companies.
Provide technical guidance on complex accounting issues.  Ensure consistency in accounting policies and compliance with GAAP.
Identify and implement best practices and improvements in accounting and reporting processes and controls.
Play a key role in cross-functional partnering to drive operational initiatives.

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in accounting or related fields with significant accounting/financial leadership experience in medium to large complex public companies.  Background in public accounting preferred.
Deep understanding of US GAAP accounting, financial/reporting processes, management information systems, and internal control over financial reporting.
Management experience in supervising an accounting team.
Experience working in a divisional/operational as well as a corporate environment is highly desirable.
You must demonstrate previous experience and success in IT system implementations.
You must demonstrate previous experience and success in influencing and driving change through project and programs across multiple organizations/functions.
Must have strong communication (oral and written) and relationship building skills.
Must have advanced experience in Microsoft Office products, including, but not limited to, Excel,
Experience with Dynamics 365 general ledger and Essbase (or FCCS), or other similar platforms preferred.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field.
Master's degree in accounting, business administration, or CPA certification preferred.
